Team game rules: 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5

In [team games](/en/tournaments) you share the pitch with other players. The format sets how much each team member weighs — and which role your player should fill.

The lobby and the draw

Someone opens a team game with a chosen format, players join, and the match starts when the sides are full. A lobby open for more than an hour without being played is removed automatically. Each player can only be in one team game at a time, but can leave any time before it starts.

2v2 — every mistake costs

With only one teammate there is no margin. A player who fades makes the side toothless, so both must hold their stamina all the way. Counters are the most common way to settle it.

3v3 — roles start to matter

Three per side makes room for a finisher, a tackler and a captain. Captaincy starts lifting the side here, and a balanced trio beats three pure finishers.

5v5 — the full arena

In 5v5 the side's combined strength outweighs individual peaks. Captaincy and mind games matter most in this format, and team tournaments draw sides with a snake draft to even out strength.

Stand-ins and bots

If a tournament slot is not filled in time a computer player steps in. Bots are deliberately weaker than a real player at the same level — a draw with many bots is an advantage.

FAQ

Can I leave a team game before it starts?
Yes. You can leave the lobby any time before the match starts. A lobby idle for more than an hour is removed automatically.
How are teams drawn in a team tournament?
Teams are drawn with a snake draft — the strongest player is paired with the next round's weakest opposition — so strength evens out. Empty slots are filled with computer players.
