Counter-attacks: the game's underrated weapon

Most new players focus on shot power. But many matches in Legends Arena are not decided by who shoots most — but by who counters most.

How a counter works

When your tackle breaks the opponent's attack you get a counter — an extra shot — but only if you still have an unused foot left in the current round. If you already used both feet, the chance is lost.

Always keep a foot in reserve

The most important habit for a tackler: do not use both feet early in the round. Leave one foot unused so every successful tackle can turn into a counter. The reserve is what makes tackles pay.

Build for counters

Put points into Tackles (Game sense) to break more attacks, and make sure your strongest foot has the precision to use the counters. High stamina lets you keep the pressure up until round twelve.

Defensive tactic fits best

Defensive tactic gives fewer attacks of your own but more chances to tackle — more tackles means more counters. In 1v1 the player who counters most often wins, even against the stronger shot.

Counters in team games

In 2v2 and 3v3 the counter becomes the team's best weapon: a tackler who steals attacks and a finisher who uses the chances. That is why a balanced lineup beats four finishers on the same side.
